FAQ's

Where is Apex Vision and Wellness?

We are located  in Greeley, CO. Please see our Office Hours tab for maps detailing routes to our west side office.

What are your office hours?

Monday - Friday,  9am - 5pm

What insurance do you take?

VSP (Vision Service Plan), EyeMed, VCP (Vision Care Plan), Medicare, Coast to Coast Vision, Blue View vision, Cigna, Great West, etc.

For plans not listed here, please call to verify our participation in your plan.

What if you don't take my plan?

We are happy to provide the patient with an itemized statement that the patient can submit to his/her insurance for direct out of network benefit compensation. We can assist in filling out any confusing areas of the insurance form.

What type of eyeglasses lenses do you dispense?

We only use the best lens materials from quality laboratories. These lenses include Varilux, Zeiss, and Transitions.

I have a higher prescription. Do you offer thinner lenses?

Being vision patients ourselves, we certainly appreciate the need for thinner, lighter weight, MORE ATTRACTIVE lenses.

We offer the entire range of lense materials from standard to the thinnest high index lenses currently available. Prescriptions are matched to the appropriate lens material for an optimal balance of lens material-thinness-cost-APPEARANCE.

Other doctor's current prescriptions are welcome.

Are children welcome in your practice?

Absolutely, and you will see our wooden train set as you enter our doors(we have had more than a few adult patients play with it too)!

Both doctors see children, seniors, and everyone in between. When we say "family practice," we mean family practice. We carry a large selection of children's frames as well.  As we carefully analyze his or her's vision, we strive for the child's visits to be fun, non-threatening, and welcoming.

We also prefer the parent/guardian to join us in the exam room as we both see/learn about the youngster's vision problems.

My eye is red. It may be infected or have something in it. Do you treat eye disease/health problems?

Dr.'s Dinnebeck and Lopez are licensed by the state of Colorado to treat most types of eye disease. This includes red eyes, foreign bodys, trauma, infections, and contact lens overwear (for after hours sight-threatening emergencies, please proceed to your local hospital emergency room).  Both doctors have completed externiships in San Antonio,Texas, at high patient volume disease and refractive surgery clinics as part of their clinical training.

Do the doctors diagnose glaucoma, cataract, macula degeneration, retina detachment or other associated sight-threatening problems?

Yes. We diagnose and manage such conditions daily in our practice. In the event a referral is needed for extensive surgical care, such as repair of a retina detachment, we will immediately assist the patient in locating a competent doctor who specializes in his/her specific problem.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. While we do accept walk-in patients, you can minimize any unnecessary wait time by calling ahead. We can accomodate most people's schedules and often are able to book patients for same day exams.

Our optometrists both see young, in-between and senior; male and female.  Our Puerto Rico born optometrist, Dr. Lopez Dinnebeck,  is the best choice if a 100% fluent spanish language exam/consultation is needed.

Do you carry safety glasses?

Yes. Attractive frames and lenses that meet the required safety standards.

Do you carry fashion sunglasses?

Yes.  Fashion and comfort in the sun is great for everyone. We feature Bolle.

We also offer prescription polarized lenses(especially nice for water/fishing and snow sports), northern colorado's largest Aspex patented "Clip" eyeglasses selection, as well as Transitions photochromic lenses.

Contact Lens options?

We have access to and prescribe every type of contact lens. These lenses do include the more advanced "bifocal" or "multifocal" as well as RGP contact lenses.  We also carry the latest silicone-hydrogel contact lenses.

As contact lens patients themselves,  the doctors work WITH their patients to find the preferred contact lens options for his/her unique needs. Generally, patients will leave with a new pair of trial contact lenses the day of their initial contact lens evaluation.

Refractive surgery (LASIK)?

Not an option for everyone. However, when appropriate for an interested, qualified patient, we have partnered with a highly experienced Denver based refractice surgery-ONLY doctor. All pre and post-operative care is performed by the doctors who know your eyes best at Apex Vision and Wellness. This offers a big advantage for the patient, who has access to the expertise of a surgeon who exclusively practices refractice surgery, yet receives the convenience of the majority of their care provided locally by our doctors.

I'm interested in being an Apex patient. However, this economy is tough and I want to be sure I can afford your office.

We certainly understand your concern. We feel the difficulties from this economy also. Therefore, we have quality, eyeglasses frames, that start at just $79.00

We strive to provide care and materials that "regular" people can afford. Our goal is to help you solve your vision/eye problems in a timely, affordable manner.

Many people have told us that our office is just what they are looking for. We consider those comments to be huge compliments and hope that you will feel the same way too.

I have other questions....

Please call our assistant at 970-330-7200 for any questions. In the event she needs to discuss your question with the doctors, we will strive to return your call the same day.
